Pigtown Festival Volunteer Opportunity

October 8, 2022

The 20th annual Pigtown festival to be held on October 8th from 12-7pm in the 700 – 1000 block of Washington Blvd will feature live music performed by Baltimore based bands, delicious food and more than 70 craft vendors. Volunteer needs are as follows:

Volunteer Role Descriptions: There are various roles + easy 2-hour time slots to choose from. Volunteer packets + directions will be provided. AND…you’ll receive a one-of-a-kind volunteer ONLY t-shirt! Thank you for your support!

PLEASE NOTE:

-Vital roles will be marked with (**)

-There is a chance you may be asked to cover a different role depending on sign-up

 

Greeters at Bike Racks: Guardian of the pig pen!

++Must be 21 years old or older++

Confirm no one leaves the festival with alcohol

 

Break Relief: It takes a community!

Provide breaks to people working double shifts

Trash clean up as needed

 

**Clean-up and Breakdown: BE A HERO!  Bring your much needed energy to staff and all day volunteers to help us put the festival to bed. Clean up includes:

Taking down tents

Sweeping up trash and disposal

Putting away equipment and supplies

Assisting vendors

Bar breakdown

 

**Greeter / Zoned Festival Staff (Blue/Yellow/Pink/Black/Kid Zones, Pig Races and Stage Areas):You’ll be the first smiles festival goers see and help maintain a fun and vibrant environment!

Keep vehicles out of the festival

Answering festival questions + concerns

Answer vendor questions

Administer surveys

 

**Pie Eating Contest & Stage: Such a fun time!

Set up pies before the contest

Recruit participants

Pie area clean-up

Check in with the Main Stage + Contest Coordinators to run contest as scheduled

 

**Set-up- General: Teamwork makes the dream work. Nothing happens without the set-up team!

Setting up tents

Placing trash bags and cans

Hanging signage

Placing tables at various stations

 

**Set-up – Vendor Check-ins & Signage: Set-up is vital for a fun filled festival.  Happy vendors, happy festival! 

Attach signs identifying the vendor check-in area

Upon arrival, check vendor name and contact information against vendor list

Confirm vendors are in the correct zone

Explain all cars must be cleared by 10:30am

Enforce the movement of vehicles
