Underground Railroad Exhibit Volunteer In 2021, the B&O Railroad Museum became an officially designated Underground Railroad site. 27 freedom seekers are known to have used the B&O Railroad system to flee slavery, 8 of whom passed directly through the Mount Clare Station, where the Museum is located. At the Baltimore Children’s Business Fair event, kids will create a product or service, develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace. The children are responsible for the setup, sales, and interacting with customers, and any parent seen selling to the customer or promoting the child’s product will result in disqualification from the competition.

Mother Mary Lange Catholic School is looking for volunteer speakers to come and present to girls in STEM and STEAM Clubs (girls in grades 6th thru 8th). The goal is to have a speaker on each of their calendar dates (October 20th, 27th, November 3rd, 10th and 17th). Girls in STEM Club meet every Thursday from 3:15pm - 4:00pm at Mother Mary Lange Catholic School. During that time, presenters provide career information and an engagement activity for students.
