Chapter One TutorMate-Virtual Volunteering
You can become a tutor and work with a student each week for 30 minutes. Volunteers read a story with their assigned student, ask questions to see how well their student understands the story, and plays word games as well as activities. All reading and activities are designed to be appropriate for the student’s reading level.

The Office of Community Engagement (OCE) seeks volunteer students and student groups to host k-12 visits focused on career exploration. Activities should include a tour of your UMB school, information about careers available in the field, specialties available within the field, specialties available within the field compensation and ideally, some hands-on activity related to the field.
