The digital divide has magnified gaps in educational equity for local students. You can help children feel more confident about their learning experience by writing letters of encouragement or making inspirational posters for kids that may be struggling with virtual learning.

After-School STEM Program Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to support after-school STEM programming at Mother Mary Lange, UMB's newest k-12 neighbor and partner in West Baltimore! Beginning February 21, 2022, volunteers are needed between 3:00 and 4:30pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to assist students with research, building and designing assigned STEM projects and assist lead teacher with classroom management and behavior monitoring, classroom setup and cleanup for activities, chaperoning for field trips to the UMB campus monitoring dismissal and parent pickup and organizing supplies. Underground Railroad Exhibit
Underground Railroad Exhibit Volunteer In 2021, the B&O Railroad Museum became an officially designated Underground Railroad site. 27 freedom seekers are known to have used the B&O Railroad system to flee slavery, 8 of whom passed directly through the Mount Clare Station, where the Museum is located. Baltimore Children’s Business Fair
At the Baltimore Children’s Business Fair event, kids will create a product or service, develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace. The children are responsible for the setup, sales, and interacting with customers, and any parent seen selling to the customer or promoting the child’s product will result in disqualification from the competition.
