Tutoring High School Students

October 29 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Excel Academy is looking for volunteers to tutor students in the credit recovery program and during coach classes. These programs are after school and dinner is provided.

Excel Academy is a Baltimore City Public School located in west Baltimore city.Alternative High School
The school program addresses the needs of students between 16 and 21 years of age who are disengaged from their current school program and exhibit the following:

Over-age in grade and history of poor academic achievement.
History of poor school attendance; lack of school engagement.
Difficulty maintaining appropriate behavior in a traditional school setting or lack of coping skills.
Difficulty relating to peers and adults and has a sincere desire to reengage and complete school.
Our students are afforded an opportunity to reconnect to school and work toward school completion through targeted remediation, credit recovery, acceleration, and learning-to-work experiences.
