SUMMARY:Health Profession Job Shadowing
DESCRIPTION:The UMB Office of Community Engagement invites faculty and post docs to host a local k-12 student with an interest in healthcare career for the Summer BioScience Internship Program (SBIP). SBIP is coordinated by the UMB Office of Community Engagement and the School of Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine in partnership with the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Employment Development to offer paid summer experiences to learn about careers in healthcare. Participating students will shadow a UMB faculty member or post doc for 5 weeks during the summer (generally during the month of July) and will share a powerpoint presentation with their peers about their experience at the culmination of the program.
