Welcome to the University of Maryland’s volunteer opportunities. Our goal is to connect students, faculty, and staff at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and employees at the University of Maryland Medical Center with volunteer projects in our area. It’s a place for you to sign up for service activities, and a place to post service activities that need volunteers.
By creating an account on this site, you can also indicate your areas of interest and your availability to volunteer, and someone from the Community Engagement team will contact you when opportunities arise that fit your profile. If you have questions about this website, please contact us.
29th Annual Project Feast Thanksgiving Meal
November 26 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
An event every year that begins at 9:00am on day fourth of November, repeating indefinitely
Project Feast is a student organization at the UMSOM that puts together an annual Thanksgiving meal at Booker T. Washington Middle School for the homeless and underserved population of West Baltimore.
In addition to providing a meal, we also connect our guests with a variety of community resources and offer a large array of donated clothing, blankets, toiletries, and non-perishable foods. For the past 28 years, this event has been held on Thanksgiving Day at Booker T. Washington Middle School and has fed thousands of people in our community. Last year, we served approximately 500 guests with the help of 175 volunteers!
Volunteers prepare and serve food, help guests select from the wide array of donated clothing and other items, and for health professions students or faculty, offer BP screenings and healthcare resources.
Feel free to email us at email@example.com with questions and to get involved!
